Mark Your Calendar: Leaker Claims Android P Will Arrive Aug. 20
Excited for the release of Android P? Co-ordinate to well-known smartphone tipster Evan Blass, the mobile operating system's official launch is just a few weeks away.
On Thursday, Blass posted an image of a calendar with a "P" marked on the space for Aug. xx. That "P" can but mean one thing – Android P.

The programmer preview for Android P has been out since March, and PCMag's Max Eddy says "there's a lot to like" nearly the new mobile Bone. Wait features such as indoor location tracking, back up for notched screens, notification improvements, and a unified fingerprint-authentication screen for added security. The successor to Android Oreo will also prevent background apps from being able to access the microphone or photographic camera.
Equally for what P will stand for, information technology's anyone's guess at this point. Every new version of Android gets a code proper noun in alphabetical order, and in honor of a dessert nutrient of some kind. Some say P will stand up for Pistachio Ice Foam, simply information technology's still a mystery. Could information technology be Popsicle? Pumpkin Pie? Peeps? Pop Rocks? Pixy Stix? There's and then many expert options. Mayhap Google will get for a fruity proper noun like Persimmon, Pear, or Papaya.
We'll just have to wait and see.
Go along in mind that while Blass is a reliable leaker, Google hasn't confirmed the Aug. 20 appointment – then it may change. We reached out to Google for confirmation, simply oasis't yet heard dorsum.
Meanwhile, Android Oreo earned an "excellent" rating in PCMag's review, and our coveted Editors' Choice award.
